Breakthrough!

To be honest, teaching kindergarten age children is difficult enough when you speak the same language. When you don’t speak the language it basically becomes a free for all. I used to have a coteacher who would translate and keep the kids in line but have been flying solo for a month now. Part of me gave up on actually teaching and decided to just play and have a good time and whatever English comes out of it or not was fine.

Lo, and behold; last Friday was perfect. I mean, the giant touchscreen tv that’s supposed to run the lecture froze. The computer is entirely in Korean and I couldn’t find anyone to help me. So we tackled our workbooks instead. The kids raised their hands and asked me questions and we managed to communicate quite well with each other and they were perfect angels. I will wait with bated breath for this Friday’s class…I hope I’ve not jinxed myself ;)
